Miedwie lake is the one of the best places in zachodniopomorskie to watch the roosting gulls. Durning last 2 weekes were observed here 3 Croatian BHG. The white S552, which was at Miedwie also in 10 VII 2008 and S740, S866. A fortune..?!
Actually we know the life history of the S552. Was ringed as an adult in Split on April 2007 and flew 1115 km to the Miedwie lake.

The Lesser Black-backed Gull (Larus fuscus) caught in Swinoujscie
Last time on Swinoujscie beach was caught a 1cy Lesser Black-backed Gull (Larus fuscus). It got metal and colour rings. Maybe for foreign ringers is nothing special but in Poland we ring LBBGs rare. In 2008 were ringed just 3 birds, in 2007 none. We look forward to hearing from spanish ringreaders about this gull :)

Kolring TEAM starts colourmarking Herring gulls (Larus argentatus)
On October 2009 the Kolring TEAM started marking wintering Herring gulls. The area of reaserch is the NW part of Poland (especially zachodniopomorskie). We would like to know where these wintering gulls come from and how they relocated.
Codes that we are using: green 00P9 - 99P9. If You will see a gull with our ring please inform us.

Finally found some time to ringreading. Today me and Lukasz were on the Miedwie lake. Saw nice flock of Common Cranes - about 520 birds. One had combinations of colour rings (probably become to german project).
